Do the Twist

Everybody loves a twist ending. They make for fun, interesting, and satisfying stories, and usually make you think about a story well after you’ve finished it. Of course, stories with twist endings can wear out their welcome (see: M. Night Shyamalan), but for the most part people love a good twist.

YouTuber Wolfcrow breaks down how to create a twist ending in six steps in his video, using a Yin/Yang paradigm. It’s a basic formula that he doesn’t dive too deeply into but gives you the bare essentials to get started. If you’re looking to write a story with a twist, then this video will help get you started.

The Internet Warriors

Trolls are everywhere, lurking at every corner of the internet. We’ve all dealt with them at one time or the other, or maybe we were them without even thinking about it. There’s something about the internet that suppresses man’s empathy and makes them cruel and vicious especially surrounding certain topics, like, you know, politics.

Recently, The Guardian released a compelling short documentary called The Internet Warriors by Director Kyrre Lien, interviewing people all over the world that have written some of the most hateful and angry comments you could think of. It’s a fantastic documentary that’ll surely make your heart wrench and your stomach feel sick. It ends on a somewhat optimistic note but that’s mostly overshadowed by the rest of it. Enjoy.
